In addition he is a keen road cyclist and mountain biker and enjoys a little sailing.

Stephen Lytton

Stephen Lytton - Seaside Medical Centre
Steve has been in general practice since 1991. He enjoys the wide variety offered by family practice and hopes to share his enthusiasm with future registrars. Away from medicine he enjoys being with his family and takes every opportunity to indulge his passion for sailing.

Andrew is one of three trainers at the Lighthouse Medical Practice – and is based at College Road. His special interests include dermatology and palliative medicine. He became a trainer in 2003 and a Programme Director in 2006. He admits to a healthy addiction for the e-portfolio as both a formative and summative process.

Mary-Rose Shears

Mary-Rose Shears - Seaford Medical Centre
In September 2002, Mary-Rose commenced training, which she finds interesting and rewarding. She is a half-time partner, dovetailing with another partner, who along with the the other partners supports the registrar in her absence. Her other responsibilities within the practice are multi-disciplinary education and information technology. Mary-Rose is currently Interim Associate Dean for the KSS Deanery.

Peter Williams

Peter Williams - Arlington Road Medical Practice
Peter is senior partner of a nine doctor practice and has been a trainer since the early 1980's. He was elected FRCGP in 1999. He was awarded a Deanery Award for Education in 2009. Peter has been GP tutor for Eastbourne again since the early 1980s. He is chairman of the East Sussex Local Medical Committee. He has an interest in aviation medicine having spent 5 years in the RAF prior to coming to Eastbourne. He and some of his partners run an Aesthetic Medicine Clinic doing things like Botox injections. He would like to run regularly to keep fit and keep his weight down.

Graeme Brown - Bolton Road Surgery

Started Medicine at St Bartholomew's in 1982 and completed GP training in 1992 from the Bromley scheme. I have worked in Australia for a year before joining Bolton Rd in 1996. The practice is fortunate to also have Dr Keith Barrow who has extensive experience as a GP trainer.
Away from work, I'm married and have two teenage children. My other interests are mainly sports focused, including rugby, ski-ing, running and motor sport.

Mike Von - Lighthouse Medical Practice - College Road                              I have recently moved to Eastbourne from Stockport where I was a GP trainer and a GP appraiser. I am fortunate to have managed to retain my commitment to both. I have found the Eastbourne trainers very supportive and willing to embrace new ideas from the RCGP. I had my first Eastbourne GPStR (doing ITP) in April 2009.

Jonni Andrews - Princes Park Health Centre
A previous graduate of Eastbourne VTS, I started training in August 2006. I am also a tutor at the Brighton and Sussex Medical School. I am passionate about the role of the “Generalist” but also run the practice Diabetes clinic as a specialist interest. Outside of medicine I keep physically fit by running 20-30 miles a week and have a big family which keeps me very busy!

Shan Palit - Old School Surgery
I, too, am a former Eastbourne scheme trainee – in fact, I was Peter Williams’ first trainee, more years ago than either of us care to remember. I became a trainer as I feel that training fits in very well with my enthusiasm for the theory of the consultation models. I have enjoyed participating in the induction course for ST3s. *Shan won't tell you, but he won the Deanery award for Education in 2010!!*
