We hope this is a useful page: with links to sites you might use in your consultation.
BRADFORD VTS: No list of websites about anything to do with training would omit this website. Ramesh Mehay who designs it deserves an award. Browse it and report useful information to anyone you know - patient, trainee or trainer!
CLINICAL: GP notebook - a really useful resource. Many of our trainers admit to having this open on their computer all the time.
CLINICAL PROTOCOLS: GP-Training.net is one of Andrew's favourite websites for a number of reasons. This subsection saves you reinventing the wheel when discussing protocols. Not all are relevant locally, but as a place from which to start, it's ideal. Brad Cheek who runs the website must have a huge fan club!
INFORMATION LEAFLETS: Patient.co.uk is directly accessible from some clinical computer software (EMIS). For those not using EMIS, this is a really useful website. Print a Patient Information Leaflet, go through it with the patient and they'll think you were just reiterating what was on it, when you know the information was new to you too! For those using EMIS, use it direct from the consultation mode in EMIS as it stores what printouts you have given the patient.
MEDICINES: BNF. Surely no description needed?
TRANSLATOR: WordLingo is a free online translator tool that can really draw patients into the consultation when they do not use English as their first language.
