Eastbourne GP Specialist Training Seaford Health Centre Seaford Health Centre welcomes registrars to its busy, friendly workforce. We have an excellent team of 12 full-time and part-time partners and 9 nursing staff. Mary-Rose Shears is the trainer in this practice. The practice has been a training practice for 18 years and ensures help is always available to registrars. The registrar is encouraged to be involved in all activities in the practice. There are regular medical and multidisciplinary meetings, in which the registrar participates. The practice also trains foundation year 2 doctors and medical students. Our practice nurses are innovative, currently they are involved with triage, audit, routine screening, chronic disease management and fulfilling the quality requirements for the GP contract. The Health Centre team works closely with district nurses, midwives, health visitors and chiropodists, who are based in the health centre. Additionally consultants hold clinics in cardiology, ENT, obstetrics and psychiatry.
The registrar has their own room, which houses the practice library. The practice uses the computer system, INPS vision 3, and is “paper-light”. The partners have varied interests including acupuncture, respiratory medicine, forensic medicine, cardiology and diabetes. One partner, Brian Pickering is an LMC member and 2 other partners are involved in providing medical services to a school. Overall we are a diverse and happy practice, which enjoys the stimulation of training new doctors. Website: www.seafordmedpractice.gpsurgery.net |
