Eastbourne GP Specialist Training
Frequently Asked Questions
I’ve applied for another scheme - how do I transfer to Eastbourne?
That was bad planning! Eastbourne is popular and places are difficult to come by! Transfers from one Deanery to another (inter-deanery transfers) and transfers within a Deanery (intra-deanery transfers) need to be applied for via the GP office at the Deanery in which you wish to be. Transfers are rare and depend on a strict set of criteria about which the Deanery will inform you.
What happens when I apply to Eastbourne?
This year (2010) successful applicants will be allocated to the Eastbourne and Hastings training schemes rather than one or the other. We believe this will increase your choice in ST1/2 rotations. We will be asking successful applicants to numerically rate their choice of practice area for their ST3 year (and Educational supervisor) (not individual practices) to "Eastbourne", "Hastings and Rye" and "Surrounding areas".
E-portfolios: what do I do if I don’t have access to a computer?
How did you manage to access our website?! Life for a GP Specialist Registrar without a computer is impossible. Of course computers will be available where you work and the e-portfolio is a very useful tool as well as being integral to your training. The whole GP curriculum is mapped out there with references. You need the e-portfolio to apply for assessments and to complete your workplace-based assessments. You will use the e-portfolio to record all your learning needs and document how these are achieved.
Can I use your downloads?
We publish them here for that purpose and for our own education – if you have useful comments about them, please let us know.
